• It enables a better assessment of heart

Due to phenomenon of divergence the right hemi thorax  appears larger than the left hemi thorax.

• As a result right ribs, diaphragm and costo phrenic angle project outside left hemi thorax.

• This phenomenon helps in localizing lesions and diaphragm.

Upper chest is difficult to evaluate because of overlapping scapulae and shoulder
