Adrenal gland
  - Adrenal glands are retroperitoneal and situated anterosuperior to the upper
    pole of the kidneys.
- These glands measure approximately 5 x 3 cm.
-  Right adrenal gland:
    
      - Lies superior and medial to the kidney
- Pyramidal in shape
 
- Left adrenal gland:
    
      - Semilunar in shape
- Situated higher than the right adrenal gland
- Said to be horseshoe-shaped
 
-  Blood supply is derived from the superior,
    middle and inferior suprarenal arteries.
