Textbooks

The core textbook for your clerkship is Obstetrics and Gynecology for Medical Students, 4th Edition, by Beckmann, C.R. et al, (publisher - Williams & Wilkins). This book is written by the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics (APGO) members and is designed to facilitate student learning and self-education. It is based on the Instructional Objectives for a Clinical Curriculum in Obstetrics and Gynecology by APGO. While you should try to read this text from cover-to-cover, additional general information should be sought from the suggested textbooks listed below. In addition, selected topics pertaining to complicated patients you have seen may be investigated in the specialty textbooks listed below. You do not have to purchase any of these resource texts since these additional texts should be available in the medical school library. A library search for review articles on selected topics may also provide up-to-date clinical information that may be helpful.
