This is an alternate content page containing a Hot Spot Explore Activity. It has opened in a new window.
The activity has an image with defined hotspot areas. The hotspot areas in the image are labeled as:
Fornix, continuation of the Fibria of the Hippocampus, projects to the Mammillary Bodies
Lateral Ventricle
Massa Intermedia (Interthalamic Adhesion), few axons may cross the middle line, but most of them pass toward the middle line and then curve lateralward on the same side. It is still uncertain whether the interthalamic adhesion contains fibers that cross the mid-line and for this reason it is inappropriate to call it a commissure. There is no known neurological deficit from its absence.
Reticular Nucleus of the Thalamus
Mammillothalamic Tract (Mammillothalamic Fasciculus), connects efferents from the mammillary body to the dorsal tegmental nuclei, the ventral tegmental nuclei, and the anterior thalamic nucleus.
