This is an alternate content page containing a Hot Spot Explore Activity. It has opened in a new window.
The activity has an image with defined hotspot areas. The hotspot areas in the image are labeled as:

Tuber Cinereum, part of the hypothalamus, a hollow eminence of gray matter situated between the mammillary bodies and the optic chiasm. Tuberomammillary nucleus is the sole source of histamine in the brain -- its release is involved in the regulation of circadian rhythm.
Mammillary body
Fornix
Mammillothalamic Tract, connects the mammillary body to the dorsal tegmental nuclei, the ventral tegmental nuclei, and the anterior thalamic nucleus
Thalamic Fasciculus, fibres forming a composite bundle containing cerebellothalamic (crossed) and pallidothalamic (uncrossed) fibres that is insinuated between the thalamus and zona incerta. Importantly, carries afferents from the Globus Pallidus to the VA Thalamus.
Lenticular Fasciculus, tract connecting the Globus Pallidus to the Thalamic fasciculus. The thalamic fasciculus (composed of the lenticular fasciculus and ansa lenticularis) runs into the Thalamus.
Zona Incerta
Reticular Nucleus of the Thalamus
Mediodorsal Nucleus
Stria Medullaris Thalami
Stria Terminalis
Caudate Nucleus
Lateral Ventricle
Third Ventricle
Corpus Callosum
Fornix
Internal Medullary Lamina
