Note:
On the right side the dorsal thalamus is represented by the Pulvinar. On the left side three general thalamic cell groups may be recognized. The Pulvinar is still present dorsally. Ventrolaterally, the ventral tier thalamic nuclei are appearing; at this level, these include the Ventral Posterolateral Nucleus (VPL) and the caudal end of the Ventral Posteromedial Nucleus (VPM).
