Case 11 answer (Breath sounds)

Bronchial breathing. It is hollow and high pitched.  Note the conduction of Heart sounds.

Conditions where you can hear bronchial breathing

• Consolidation (Tubular type)

• Cavity (cavernous type)

• Over a mass contiguous with Trachea (D'Spine sign)

• Massive pleural effusion with complete relaxation atelectasis

• Tension Pneumothorax (Amphoric type)
