Associated Illness

A history of diseases known to be associated with coin lesions are valuable. Patients with breast and colon carcinomas have lung metastases. Patients with rheumatoid arthritis may have necrobiotic lung nodules. Patients with hereditary telangiectasia may have vascular malformation of the lung.

You should always carefully review past hospitalizations and surgical procedures . It is not uncommon for a melanoma to have been removed in the past. However, the patient may not voluntarily tell you.
