Etiological considerations for Community acquired Lobar Pneumonia are:

• Strep Pneumonia
• Legionella
• Mycoplasma

This patient had Pneumococcal Pneumonia

Gross:  Note the lobar consolidation.

Micro: Alveoli are filled with inflammatory exudate with intact alveolar septa.
