- If you conceptualize the neck as a series of tubes within tubes, each transmitting structures
that are often functionally related, it will help you understand the anatomy and clinical relevance
of this area.
- The concept of compartmentalization of muscles into functional groups, each with its common
nerve supply, is revisited. A good example of this compartmentalization is the face (muscles of
facial expression innervated by C.N.VII and muscles of mastication innervated by C.N. V).
