Anterior Thigh

Step 1
Skin the thigh.
Each of the steps in the dissection includes more specific instructions for the dissection of that step. The buttons below provide lists of all the structures that will be dissected in this session.

Step 2
Dissect the muscles of the anterior thigh and the contents of the femoral triangle. Demonstrate the femoral sheath and femoral canal.
Step 3
Dissect the profunda femoris artery and its branches.
Step 4
Dissect the muscles, nerves and arteries of the adductor compartment.


Gluteal Region

Step 1
Skin the gluteus and reflect the gluteus major muscle.

Identify the piriformis, gluteus medius and minimus muscles along with their nerve and blood supply.
Step 3
Dissect the lateral rotators of the hip joint.
