CARE OF CADAVERS

First and foremost cadavers should be treated with respect at all times. Second, evaporation (i.e., drying out) is the worst threat to your cadaver. It is imperative that you keep your cadaver moist at all times. It is a good idea to periodically mist the area that you are working on with water. Spray bottles are provided for this purpose. When each lab session is over carefully cover your cadaver with moist rags and pull the plastic sheet over the body. Tuck the edges under and check for openings. Drain excess liquid as it accumulates on the dissection table. Keep your work area neat.

N.B. Cadavers are not to be uncovered without permission of the dissecting team responsible for that body.
