Melanoma of the Trunk

Loyola University Medical Center

Note each of the ABCDs are present. This melanoma of the trunk had a Breslow depth of 0.8 mm. The depth is the single most reliable indicator of the risk of metastasis. Even so, it is far from perfect, since even thin melanomas have metastasized, and thick melanomas occasionally do not.
