Loud pulmonary component of second heart sound

Note loud P2 in a patient with VSD. Note also the holosystolic murmur with late crescendo.

Loud P2 is heard in:

• Pulmonary hypertension
• Dilated pulmonary artery
• Atrial septal defect
• Ventricular septal defect
