Case based study in Mechanisms Course

The purpose of the session is for you to get a better understanding of how basic science concepts are applied in the clinical setting.. It is not intended to improve your diagnostic ability, as in most instances the diagnosis is obvious.

You cannot tackle the case without possessing required background knowledge. hence you should first go to resources option and read the topics listed. Some of them have on line resources.

Next you should take the self-evaluation exercise. This module will help you to make sure that you have acquired the basic knowledge to tackle the case. This could be in the form of survey. Each facilitator will receive the aggregate responses from the class. It will help them to concentrate on perceived difficult areas.

Now you are ready to read the case and solve problems presented to you by the faculty. You can revisit resources to help solve the problem if necessary. You should come prepared with answers for each question to the small group sessions.

After the session is over answers to questions will be made available on line. It will be left on line until the course is over for your review.
