Cervix

• Position:
  • Cervix faces forwards (Retroversion)
  • Cervix and uterus descend down vagina: (Prolapse of uterus)
• Os:
  • Red and bleeds.(Ectropion, Cancer)
  • Bright red soft friable protrusion from os. (Cervical polyp)
  • Discharge: Pus, blood.
• Mucous membrane:
  • Cervicitis
  • Cauliflower like growth with a hard granular surface that bleeds easily. (Cancer)
  • Edematous, thickened, ulcerated.
  • Translucent nodules. (Retention cysts)
• Laceration: (Traumatic deliveries)
