When palpable describe the location, size, consistency, tenderness and fixation to surrounding tissue. Check for fixation by having the patient tense the pectoral muscle.
Proceed to evaluate the draining areas carefully (Breast, Arms).
If the draining areas are normal consider systemic disease. (Lymphoma, TB).
