Definition
A mesothelioma is a malignant neoplasm of
pleura.
Pathology
The neoplasm grows to encase the lung and chest wall.
Refer to Figure 15-49 in your textbook. Microscopically, the neoplastic cells may resemble
mesenchymal stroma (sarcoma) or appear like epithelial cells.
