FINAL GRADE

Students will receive an Honors, High Pass, Pass, or Fail grade. Grades will be calculated based on the following formula:

  • 1/3 knowledge exam

  • 1/3 clinical evaluation (divided evenly among each of the 6 core competencies as tallied from relevant modules)

  • 1/3 overall faculty evaluation (as gathered from Emergency Department meetings)

A consistent pattern of poor performance without evidence of change for the better will result in a failing grade. Students at risk of failing will be made aware and a path towards remediation will be designed on a case-by-case basis. In general students will be expected to attend and participate in all modules except for circumstances involving reasonable (illness, family/personal urgencies) absences.

Student’s final grades are going to be released to the registrar’s office at SSOM two weeks after the EM final exam.
