These slides are not cut perpendicular to the long axis of the brainstem but are sectioned somewhat obliquely; this plane of section is commonly employed because it "fits" the telencephalon and diencephalon better. These sections are also magnified much less than the previous ones so that the relation of the brainstem to the overlying cerebellum can be better appreciated.
The four Deep Cerebellar Nuclei receive inputs from the Cerebellar Cortex and project to brainstem and thalamus.
