Sarcoidosis

Progressive Massive Fibrosis

  • Bilateral upper lobe disease

  • Calcified mediastinal nodes in CT

  • Calcification in the mass like densities in CT

Intriguing case: Patient with silica exposure. Open lung biopsy consistent with sarcoidosis. No significant silica demonstrable. I realize the definition of sarcoidosis is granulomatous disease of unknown etiology of multiple organs. Silica can give rise to granulomas.
