Loyola University Medical Education Network Dissection of the Oral Cavity and Pharynx

Step 1
Study the surface structures of the oral cavity. Dissect the mucosa on the inferior sides of the tongue to demonstrate extrinsic muscles of the tongue, its innervation and vasculature.
Each of the steps in the dissection includes more specific instructions for the dissection of that step. The buttons below provide lists of all the structures that will be dissected in this session.
