Sports Medicine
With its state-of-the-art program, the section is attracting a new patient population as well as enhancing the department’s residency training by providing advanced diagnostic and therapeutic arthroscopic techniques, including major joint reconstructions.
Pietro Tonino, MD, Director of the Division of Sports Medicine, is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in arthroscopic joint reconstructive surgery. Dr. Tonino has established affiliations with several professional teams and has worked as a physician for the U.S. Olympic Committee.
The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery would like to welcome Douglas Evans, MD to it's staff as a member of the Division of Sports Medicine. Dr. Evans recently completed a Sports Medicine fellowship at the University of Chicago after completing his residency at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo Health Sciences Center.
