Residents in training are sponsored and licensed, not less than 2 years and not more than 3 years under a temporary medical license issued by the State of Illinois. After 24 months of Graduate Medical Education training, it is your responsibility to apply for a "permanent" Illinois medical license. Applications can be secured through the Office of Graduate Medical Education. All fees are payable by the individual.
