Hand Surgery
Loyola’s expertise in hand surgery includes trauma, arthritis and peripheral nerve problems. Our faculty members have special expertise in management of congenital abnormalities and hand paralysis resulting from spinal cord injury. The Hand Rehabilitation Center provides both acute and follow-up hand therapy services.
Two faculty members from the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and two from the Department of Plastic Surgery constitute the Hand Service. Orthopaedic surgeons Terry Light, MD and Michael Bednar, MD are joined in this service by Plastic Surgeons Juan Angelats, MD , FACS and Darl Vandevender, MD.
