Google.com. Google delivers
relevant search results fast! Like any search engine, Google brings you a list of sites relevant to
your search words. Google has added a new GoogleScout feature, which puts a button beside each of the listed sites so that you can
instantly dig deeper to see additional related sites. This is the one I use most often.
-
Dogpile. One of the first metasearch
sites. Meta-search engine returns query results from other Web search engines,
Usenet, FTP sites, stock quotes and news from wire services. If you can't
find what your looking for on Google it is on Dogpile.
-
HotBot. Plain English seraches.. HotBot
indexes every word, link, and media file on more than 110 million Web documents
and refreshes its entire database of documents every three to four weeks. It also
allows users to construct sophisticated search queries of its index without previous knowledge of complex search terms and methodologies. Instead, HotBot
offers users a simple, point-and-click interface, intuitive pulldown menus, and theability to use plain English terminology for constructing searches.
-
Metacrawler. Unlike most search engines that give you a relatively
messy list of possible places to pursue, Metacrawler--the engine that collects the work of many other engines--lets you sort the finished list
by relevance, site, or source. Doing so can help you stop a search gone wrong and give you quick answers to set it right.
-
Ask Jeeves. Ask Jeeves a
question in plain English and get an answer.
-
Ask Maxwell, Microsoft's new tech-support search
engine. As with the popular Ask Jeeves site, you type a question in plain English, and a ranked list of questions appears. You then choose
the closest match. Maxwell currently offers support for Windows98, Internet Explorer, Outlook and Outlook Express, and
various Microsoft games.
-
The Busy Teachers' WebSite is an excellent resource for teachers and, for that matter, anyone who wants to brush up on his or her education. The site is essentially a compilation of links to sites on various subjects, including mathematics, English, and geology. A new section on Web projects can help teachers come up with ideas for interactive learning opportunities for students.

Google is an excellent image search engine.
-
Microsoft® Clip Gallery Live.

what you need directly into your clip art gallery. Works best with
Internet Explorer.
-
Ditto.com provides a visual mechanism to search the web using pictures instead of
text. Users are directed to the originating web site on which the pictures are located.
Should you wish to use any picture, photo or artwork you see during the search
process, you must obtain the appropriate permission from the owner of the material.
-
Clip Art Searcher
searches for graphics files in five different directories:Anzwers, HotBot, Lycos, Filez and 1-Click. It beats going directly to those
search engines because the Searcher has already tailored the forms for art, icon, image, and animation search.
Phone Numbers & Maps

overlay places of interest, and create and save personalized maps. We also offer
business, leisure and local information, plus live traffic updates.
-
Lycos Maps - New to the neighborhood? Or just going
somewhere new? Road Maps will create a custom map of your destination. Just enter
the facts and see your map appear.
-
Many portals--including Yahoo! and Lycos--provide a link to maps, directions, and business directories.
Sometimes, however, it's not obvious where these links are. In some cases, it may be simpler to
begin your search with a service like Maps On Us. You can choose to view a map or find directions to the
address you specify, or search Yellow Pages for a particular kind of business.
