Pediatric Urology
Pediatric urology encompasses the care of children who have problems
related to the urinary tract and genital organs. The pediatric urologists
at Loyola University Medical Center have first trained in general
urology and then have spent an additional 1-2 years learning specifically
about the care of children and the urological problems that affect
them.
Our pediatric urologists care for children with a wide range of
conditions. Some of these require surgical correction and others
do not. When surgery is required, we offer the complete spectrum
of care--from "minor" outpatient surgery to minimally invasive endoscopic
and laparoscopic procedures, to major reconstructive surgery. We
also work in tandem with a team of pediatric specialists at the
Ronald McDonald Children's Hospital of Loyola University. Whatever
the problem is, we will work closely with the patient, his or her
parents, and the primary care doctor to evaluate the situation and
recommend an appropriate treatment plan.
