He has served in that position and on Loyola's renal transplant team for 12 years. Dr. Hatch has a joint appointment in the Departments of Urology and Pediatrics and plays an active role in the university. Dr. Hatch is a member of 10 medical specialty societies and served as President of the Urologic Society for Transplantation and Vascular Surgery. He has conducted funded research in immunologic responses to renal transplantation, bladder physiology in children and testicular prostheses. He has published over 30 articles on pediatric urology and renal transplantation. He has produced video presentations on surgical techniques in pediatric urology and an award-winning web site on genitourinary development. Dr. Hatch and his wife, Susan Paxman, are the parents of three energetic sons, Aaron, Chandler and Colin.
