Clinical Divisions: General Urology

General urology covers a wide spectrum of urologic diseases in men and women of all age groups. Reasons a person may come to see a general urologist include:
  • difficulty, frequent or painful urination
  • enlargement of the prostate
  • blood in the urine
  • urinary tract infections
  • pain or swelling in the scrotum or testicles
  • evaluation for prostate cancer
  • kidney stones
  • urinary incontinence
  • sexual difficulties

Although some of these conditions are also treated by urologists that are sub-specialists, many patients are initially evaluated or treated by a general urologist.
