Biography
Dr. Nejd Alsikafi specializes in the treatment of urethral stricture disease and urologic conditions resulting from traumatic injuries. He is a native of Terre Haute, IN, and attended the University of Chicago for his undergraduate and medical education. After completing his general surgical and urological training at the University of Chicago, he completed a fellowship at the University of California San Francisco with Dr. Jack McAninch, one of the world’s most recognized trauma and reconstructive experts, and served as a clinical instructor of urology.
Dr. Alsikafi was recruited to start a program in Urologic Trauma and Reconstruction. He is an expert in urethral reconstruction (urethroplasty), urologic trauma, and male urinary incontinence. He is involved in a number of national studies regarding the outcome of various urethroplasty techniques, and is published in highly-regarded peer-reviewed journals in the area of urologic trauma and reconstruction. He is one of five urologists nationwide who has gained acceptance into American Society for the Surgery of Trauma. He is also a reviewer for the Journal of Urology and the Journal of Trauma.
