Summer Enrichment Program

Program Mission :
The Summer Enrichment Program (SEP) at Loyola University Chicago's Stritch School of Medicine (SSOM) is a six-week program for students interested in a career in medicine. The program’s mission is to help students understand health disparities and the importance of promoting equity in healthcare.

Program Objectives:

The program is designed for individuals who will enrich the diversity of our medical student community and who demonstrate a commitment to lifelong service in underserved communities. It is our hope that program participants will exemplify the principles learned in the program through their future choices in medical education and practice.

Accommodations:
Because Loyola is a commuter campus, students outside of the greater Chicagoland area will be housed in suites or doubles at nearby Dominican University. Students who live in the area may have the option of being housed at Dominican, based on the number of students needing housing. Housing costs are covered by Loyola.

Transportation and Parking:
Students who have cars are encouraged to bring them to the program for daily travel to Loyola's campus, local travel around the community, as well as weekly travel to clinical sites. Students carpool to all locations and share gas expenses. Parking will be provided at Loyola at no charge.
