| Description: |
The student will have the opportunity to work with an attending psychiatrist, attending psychologist, and psychiatry resident in the outpatient clinic. The student will be involved in all phases of the treatment from reviewing pertinent chart material to conferring with the referring physician and/or outside sources. The principles of psychopathology are discussed and cases are reviewed with the attending. The clinic receives referrals from within the hospital and community. It will provide the student with exposure to a wide variety of patients and pathology. The student will also have exposure to specialty areas in psychiatry: adult psychiatry, child/adolescent psychiatry, eating disorders, pain management, hematology/oncology, solid organ transplant. The student will also have an appreciation of multidisciplinary treatment modalities including psychotherapies, psychopharmacological management and non-pharmacological pain management. |

Supervisor provides a narrative with examples of student performance, as well as an overall grade based on the Honors, High Pass, Pass, Unsatisfactory, Fail criteria. |
