Prerequisite: Completion of Pediatrics OR Medicine clerkship.
Special Note: Students should have special interest in psychosocial medicine.
Description: This elective will provide experience in providing both primary and specialized health care for adolescents. Students will see patients in Adolescent medicine clinic, Adolescent gynecology clinic, as well as in a school-based health center. Special emphasis will be given to interventions for health risk behaviors and to assessing and managing adolescents with psychosocial disorders. This elective will prepare students with interests in pursuing training in pediatrics, med-peds, internal medicine and ob-gyn.
Method of Evaluation: 1) Post-rotation written exam
2) Supervisor evaluation of student presentations and notes
3) Adolescent patient provider evaluations
4) Post-rotation oral reports
