| Description: |
The elective will include four weeks (or four of the eight) in daily one-and-one-half hour sessions surveying important infectious diseases and clinical microbiology. Students will obtain history and physical examinations, as well as formulate assessments on patients for whom infectious disease consultation is sought. Students will present patient(s) to attending on rounds and be responsible for follow-up. Students will participate actively in a weekly Infectious Disease Conference. Exposure to the principles of infection control will be offered. |
