Prerequisite: Available to third and fourth year students; open to SSOM students only.   
Special Note: On the first day of the rotation, report to Allene at 8:30AM in Bldg. 200, Rm. 1447.
Description: Students are exposed to all aspects of nephrology - electrolyte, water, acid base metabolism; hypertension, both hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, including continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis - on Consultation Service. Students are expected to attend and participate in two didactic lectures each week, two conferences each week and daily rounds.
Method of Evaluation: Evaluation based on:
a. Participation in ward rounds.
b. Oral case presentations during ward review conferences.
c. Review of histories and physicals written in charts and consultation sheets.
d. Interest in reviewing important publications.
