Applicant Requirements
Applicants must possess an advanced academic or professional degree (MD, PhD, MA, MS, and RN BSN) and work in a health related profession.
All interested candidates should complete and submit:
- A Graduate School application online (no application fee) or paper application ($40 fee will apply) see request information about the graduate programs for a paper application
- One set of official transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate institutions attended
- A letter of intent (Statement of Purpose), describing why the applicant wishes to pursue formal training in clinical research methods
- Three letters of recommendation (this may include the letter from the clinical mentor-see below)
- A letter of support from a clinical department mentor, selected by the candidate. The clinical mentor must be willing to mentor the applicant thru the program and be willing to meet with the student on a regular basis to discuss the student’s academic progress and assist with research ideas, etc. The clinical mentor does not have to have a background in clinical research.
Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate a strong commitment to clinical research.
Admission to the Program will be determined by the faculty committee. Admission requirements shall be applied equitably to individual applicants regardless of age, sex, race, disability, religion or national origin.
Applications for the 2008-2010 Program year will be accepted May 1– June 15, 2008.
The successful candidates will be notified of their acceptance by July 1st, 2008.
