About the Residency Program
Welcome to our program at the Ronald McDonald Children's Hospital of Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine. We are a three-year, accredited program by the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education.
Our
curriculum is innovative and is designed to meet the needs of individuals
training to become pediatricians. It is balanced between primary care
and subspecialties, and between inpatient and outpatient medicine. Our
graduates are poised to pursue private practice opportunities or to enter
specialty fellowships.
Applications are accepted through ERAS from osteopathic, Canadian, and American graduates from LCME accredited medical schools. All applications are reviewed and initial invitations for interviews are sent via email mid- to late October. In addition to the application, we need three letters from persons who know the applicant well. Chair letters are not mandatory. For individuals studying at Osteopathic Medical Schools, COMLEX is accepted.
Browse through our brochure, contact us either electronically at kjudy@lumc.edu or pedscoord@lumc.edu or at 708-327-9063 with questions, and make plans to visit us. Applications are accepted only through ERAS. We look forward to hearing from you.
