Welcome to the Pediatric Department at Loyola University Medical Center and the Ronald McDonald Children’s Hospital! We are pleased that you have taken the time and effort to learn about us. We take great pride in our education programs. Our heritage has always placed teaching and learning at the center of our mission. Today, we are able to compliment that tradition with outstanding faculty, residents, and facilities.
The Ronald McDonald Children’s Hospital is located in the near western suburbs of Chicago. This provides our program with a distinct advantage, by enabling children and families, in some of the fastest growing suburbs in the United States, easy accessibility to our hospital. This translates into continual growth of both our inpatient and outpatient programs.

The mission of our residency program is to provide a broad, general pediatric
oriented, curriculum that is competency based. Our training program is
constantly evolving to meet the training needs of our residents. Residents
in our program experience cutting edge pediatrics in a variety of settings;
from a state of the art Neonatology Unit, to a Mobile Medical Unit program
that is the international standard for mobile medical care.
These programs illustrate another of our strengths, interdisciplinary collaboration. We are a family – a supportive, warm, and inviting group of residents, attending staff, nurses, and pediatric health care personnel that work together. That sense of teamwork defines our program.
Graduates of our residency are successful whether they enter general pediatric practice or pursue subspecialty or research careers.
Please explore our website and learn more about us. More importantly, please pay us a visit. We’d love to show you the pediatric residency program that we are so proud of.
