Applying to the Program

Dear Residency Applicant:

Thank you for your inquiry regarding our Residency Training Program. We appreciate your interest, and invite you to visit us at our website address to obtain detailed information about our program:

The following statements represent the minimum criteria needed for you to be considered for residency by our Residency Training Committee. Please forward the following items to ERAS:

  1. Current CV with Personal Statement.
  2. Wallet size photograph.
  3. Official Medical School transcripts.
  4. Copy of Medical School Diploma, if awarded. (graduation within the past 10-years). Foreign medical graduates must have a medical degree from a school listed in the World Health Organization Director of Medical Schools, have fulfilled all educational requirements to practice medicine in the country where the degree was obtained, and hold a valid license for same.
  5. Dean's Letter of Recommendation.
  6. Three (3) Letters of Recommendation.
  7. USMLE Step I and II Scores (we look for scores 80 or above).

All foreign medical graduates must provide copies of:

      8.     A Valid ECFMG Certificate.
      9.     A Valid VISA or proof of U.S. Citizenship. (Sponsorship
              based on clarification by the Graduate Medical Education
              office).  We sponsor J-1 visas only.

A valid Illinois State License is mandatory for you to begin training here at Loyola. The licensure process will begin after acceptance in the program. If you would like preliminary Information regarding the licensure procedure and requirements, it can be obtained from:
