Main Clinical Interests: Genitourinary Pathology, Gastrointestinal Tract Pathology, Soft Tissue Pathology and Visceral Organ Lymphomas

Dr. Paner completed his residency and served as Chief Resident and Assistant Chief Resident of Anatomic and Clinical Pathology (AP/CP) at Loyola University Medical Center (LUMC). He completed Surgical Pathology fellowship with emphasis in Genitourinary Pathology and electives in Gastrointestinal and Soft Tissue Pathologies at Emory University Hospital and Hematopathology fellowship at LUMC.
Dr. Paner is board certified in AP/CP and Hematopathology.

Dr. Paner is recipient of several awards including the International Society of Pathology (ISUP) Excellence in Urological Pathology Resident Research Award, College of American Pathologists (CAP) Foundation Informatics Award, Rodger C. Haggitt Gastrointestinal Pathology Society (GIPS) Travel Award, Chicago Medical Society (CMS) Top Five Poster Entry and was an alternate state delegate for the CAP Residents Forum.

Before joining LUMC, Dr. Paner was a Consultant and a Clinical Research Investigator at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He was involved with the Intuitive Da Vinci Robotic Prostatectomy Database and had collaborative projects with the National Cancer Data Base (NCDB) on kidney cancers.

Currently, Dr. Paner is serving as liaison for genitourinary cancer in pathology committee of the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG) where he had worked for the pathology central review of various trials in prostate cancer.

Dr. Paner has authored and co-authored 31 articles in peer-reviewed journals and 26 scientific abstracts, and is one of the authors for the upcoming Amirsys StatDx and Diagnostic Pathology. He serves as a reviewer for several pathology journals including Archives of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Histopathology, Pathology and International Urology and Nephrology. Dr. Paner has presented in several regional and national pathology meetings including the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology (USCAP).

Dr. Paner is a member of ISUP, CAP, American Society for Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), USCAP and the Philippine Medical Association of Chicago/FEUDNR Alumni Foundation.
