Allied Health Conferences
FOCUS is an annual ophthalmic clinical conference held at Loyola University Medical Center.  FOCUS is coordinated and sponsored by the Association of Chicagoland Ophthalmic Registered Nurses (ACORN).  Loyola's Nancy Quandt RN, BSN, CRNO is the president of ACORN and is the administrator of FOCUS.  The purpose of FOCUS is to educate ophthalmic nurses and technicians from both clinical and surgical settings in a variety of specialties.  ACORN's mission through FOCUS is to increase the knowledge and skill of ophthalmic nurses and technicians, in order to enhance the quality, expertise, and safety of ophthalmic patient care.  ACORN is committed to promoting professionalism and to giving opportunities for networking between ophthalmic healthcare personnel.  Also, FOCUS makes valuable continuing education credits and nursing contact hours, conveniently available to ophthalmic nurses and technicians.   FOCUS conference topics are selected to respond to the interests of the participants and to expose attendees to cutting-edge trends, topics, and procedures in the ophthalmic community.

FOCUS's goal is to cover pertinent topics that would benefit ophthalmic registered nurses and technicians in a variety of settings.
