Thanksgiving baskets
For the second year, Lezlie Sorensen, Kathy Hughes, Jackie Ciombor and Maggie Reeb, support staff for the Department of Ophthalmology, have created Thanksgiving baskets for the needy which will be distributed by University Ministry, during Thanksgiving week.

gave birth to a healthy baby boy on July 8th at 10:21 p.m. Aidan Jeffery weighed 6 lbs. 10 oz and was 20.5 inches long. Both mom and baby are doing fine. Best wishes to Aidan and his new family!

Walter Jay, MD

  • Dr. Jay participated as a fellow panel member at the Oral Board Examination in San Francisco in early June. The Board recognizes the significant commitment of Dr. Jay’s time and resources in this very important process along with his skills and effort in making this a fair and equitable process.
  • Neuro-Ophthalmology has announced the appointment of Walter Jay as Co-Editor. Under his leadership, the journal will continue to produce a journal of clinical and fundamental research relating to all aspects of neuro-ophthalmology and providing an outlet for international research.
  • "Vision, Aging, and Driving" along with "Ethical Concerns in Ophthalmology", has been selected to be audio-recorded at the 2008 Joint Meeting of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the European Society of Ophthalmology. Congratulations, Dr. Jay!
