Words of Inspiration to our Faculty in 2011
Jay I. Perlman, MD, PhD, Allison Landes, MD and Maylon Hsu, MD
"I just wanted to take a minute to thank your team in the Eye Clinic for the exemplary care I received while in the process of two (2) cataract replacements. With my left eye I worked closely with Dr. Maylon Hsu and Dr. Allison Landes with my right eye. Both physicians are very capable."
Residents and Staff
"Since moving to North Riverside in 2002, I have been going to Loyola outpatient center for care. The resident doctors and staff are always so pleasant. When it comes time for the residents to leave it's hard to see them go, but I know there will be new caring residents to follow."
Peter Russo, OD
"Well you are on the right track. I am a retired hospital employee. I have worked in hospitals for 36 yrs. I am a retiree so I can honestly say, Loyola is top notch. Dr. Russo is wonderful and so is his staff. I have been going to him for years. I feel very comfortable at Loyola and have always been treated wonderfully.'
Charles Bouchard, MD
Everything was GREAT! This was my second eye surgery at Loyola by Dr. Bouchard.

Belinda Perryman and Terry Vorrier
Patient was in the LOC Ophthalmology clinic to see Dr. Felipe De Alba. When she came out of the appointment she was upset and a little scared by some news she had received.
Patient said "both Terry Vorrier and Belinda Perryman were very kind to her." She said they were both "very re-assuring and very compassionate." She said Terry "made her laugh" and was very helpful with both her husband and her daughter who had accompanied her to the appt. Patient said she feels Terry is "just awesome."
Patient has encountered Belinda before when she has come to the clinic. She said Belinda always seems to be very conscientious about her job, but yesterday Patient really appreciated Belinda's "kindness and thoughtfulness which felt very genuine."
Patient decided to call Patient Relations because she "wanted to let someone know how much she appreciated both Belinda and Terry" and how grateful she is for the care she receives in the Ophthalmology clinic."

Charles Bouchard, MD

Dr. Charles Bouchard's personal and staff's care is without question, "the very best." He is a blessing to mankind and without question most knowledgeable in his practice. I will just take a moment to tell you how I came to Dr. Bouchard. Currently approaching 87 years of age and a WWII veteran who landed at "Omaha" beach during the invasion of Normandy was a combat Engineer. Wounded in France 6/27/44.
After being sent to the 28th General Hospital in England I returned to finish the last 4 campaigns in Europe. Several years ago I needed a cataract removed on my right eye. This was done at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston w/o complications. When my left eye needed the cataract surgery I went to the V.A. in North Chicago, unfortunately the operation was unsuccessful and ruined my cornea. I was referred to Dr. Kraff in downtown Chicago and he referred me to Dr. Bouchard.
Now I can see well. Thanks to the Lord and Dr. Bouchard and staff. Sincerely
Shuchi Patel, MD
Dr. Shuchi Patel is awesome and she is my new favorite doctor. Keep up the good work!
Thank you!
Felipe de Alba, MD, Denise Goodie, Nancy Quandt / LOC Ophthalmology Clinic
Dr. De Alba and his entire staff, the nurses, technicians and receptionists were very friendly and courteous, and very professional and made me feel relaxed. They all deserve recognition for the jobs they are doing. These are the only two nurses that I know by name: Denise Goodie and Nancy Quandt who are exceptionally good at their jobs. Dr. De Alba is probably one of the best doctors Loyola has to offer. I hope he stays here at Loyola for a long time, or as long as I'm a patient at Loyola.
Joshua Levar, MD
A co-worker stopped me in the hallway to ask if I knew Dr. Levar. I told her I did and she proceeded to tell me how good he was when she had to visit the ER recently. She said Dr. Levar not only made a very accurate assessment of her problem, (excessive floaters) he took the time to reassure her and made sure she had everything she needed before leaving the ER. She was very afraid and she said Josh sensed this and made sure she understood his instructions.
Way to go Josh! Thanks for making us look good.

Dearest Dr. Susanne Tidow – A token of my heartfelt appreciation for all your concern and TLC. I thank you for making sure the right lenses were used for my eyes! Thank you for going that extra step. How very sweet of you! I will always remain so grateful! Hope you enjoy the pretzels as they are home made. P.S. Your staff couldn’t be better. I CAN SEE !! HOW SWEET IT IS!
Charles Bouchard, MD
With fragile eyes, I came to you;
You warmly welcomed me.
Your smile brought hope, encouragement, and possibilities.
The time you gave you did not have,
But you gladly sacrificed.
I knew that when you looked at me,
You saw well beyond my eyes.
Your words may not have always spoken every answer to my case,
But perseverance forged ahead, your spirit led with faith.
My world it went from light to dark, and back and forth again;
You took my family by the hand, devoted Guide and Friend.
Through all the seasons my eyes have been seen,
The good, the bad, the in-between,
You stood so tall, right by my side,
Even through the dried-up tears I cried.
Although my vision’s future seemed an ominous unknown,
These Humpty Dumpty eyes of mine were picked up, shined, and sewn
By a heart so gentle, kind and good.
Highest thanks can never show,
The gratitude I feel inside,
So with these words I let you know.
With humbled grace, you chose a path
Few doctors dare to trod.
And my soul it well knows when you cared for me,
I was touched by the hands of God.
