Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellowship
The Loyola University Health System is a regional Level III perinatal center that provides consultative, primary care and transport services for the high risk pregnancy. This division supervises a busy antepartum service, provides critical care to the obstetrical patient, provides targeted perinatal sonography, performs various antepartum testing techniques and manages medical/surgical complications of pregnancy. They work in conjunction with neonatologists, geneticists and obstetrical anesthesiologists to provide state-of-the art perinatal care for mothers and infants. A busy outpatient clinic and modern outpatient Fetal Assessment Center are located in the Loyola Outpatient Center. The Labor and Delivery unit has recently been remodeled and has received state designations as an intensive-care facility. Research interests of the Division include: tocolytic therapies, multi fetal pregnancies and autoimmune disorders, drug abuse in pregnancy and fetal behavioral states.
