Eileen Zimmerman Staff Biography

Eileen Zimmerman
Chaplain

I came to Loyola 20 years ago for the tuition benefits….. and never left. During that time I had the opportunity to work for the Law School and the Ministry Department. For the last 12 years I have been privileged to work at SSOM. I truly enjoy being a member of the ministry team and working with such gifted students.

On any given day you can find me greeting students and staff as they enter the Ministry Office. One aspect of my job is taking the time needed to listen to the students’ share what is going on in their lives (both educationally and personally). Many of these discussions revolve around residency selection, rotations, wedding gowns, roommates, etc. I’ve also been there when they have seen their first patient die or listened as they talked about how their patient was improving. I am honored to be a small part of these milestones with so many, at this time in their lives.

During my time off I enjoy gardening, traveling, movies, plays, reading and the Cubs. However, my greatest enjoyment comes from spending time with my family, especially now that I have grandchildren.
