Cynthia Winters
Senior Secretary

My name is Cynthia Winters. I was born and raised in the Maywood area. I am a high school graduate of Proviso East High School and college graduate of Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL. I received a certificate for completing accelerated computer courses at Computer Learning Center in Lombard.

I was employed by several companies before joining the Ministry staff at Loyola University Medical Center. I worked 10+ years for Official Airline Guides in the Programming department in Oak Brook, IL. Prior to joining my Ministry family, I worked for the corporate office of Jewel Osco located in Melrose Park in their Compliance department.

I am a faithful member of the Rock of Ages Baptist Church located in Maywood, IL. I have been an active member of this church for 13 years. I guess you are wondering how I fit in with the Catholic teachings of Loyola. When I was hired here, I was informed that University Ministry did not just represent Catholics, but it represents Christianity. And here I am as a witness to our melting pot of religions--7 years later.

I am a single mother of a very bright and promising 12 year-old daughter, Ashya Winters, who will be graduating from 8th grade this year and who is the bright spot in my life. Ashya and I are products of a very close knit family—who by the way all basically live in Maywood area. I love reading and am in my glory when I’m baking for family and friends.
