Rheumatology

Members of the division are active researchers, having discussed their finding in close to 100 original peer-reviewed articles, abstracts and book chapters over the past five years. The outcomes of their studies have appeared in various medical publications, including the Journal of Rheumatology, Therpeutic Aphresis and Academic Medicine. Research interests include:

  • Pain control in overweight elderly patients with osteoarthritis of the knee
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Rheumatoid arthritis and spondyloarthropaties
  • Management of pulmonary hypertension
  • Study of novel agents to treat rheumatoid arthritis and gout
  • Use of aphresis to reduce actue graft rejection in transplant patients
