Conference Schedules

Department of Medicine Conferences

All departmental conferences are mandatory. In addition, each individual division/sub-specialty conducts its own supplementary weekly conference series which residents assigned to that rotation are required to attend as well.

General Medicine Morning Report:
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday at 8:15 am (Loyola) / 7:15 am (Hines).

Residents, Interns, Students, and Faculty on the Inpatient General Medicine Services learn together through case presentations and answering key clinical questions.

Department of Medicine Noon Conference:

  • Chief Resident Conference
    Every Monday and Wednesday the Chief Resident leads this case-based interactive conference.
  • Intern-Only Conference
    Thursday noon conference is dedicated to our interns.
  • Summer Lecture Series
    During July and August, noon conferences are focused on a core curriculum of topics essential for our new trainees.

Tuesday AM Conference:
Tuesdays at 11:00 am.

This weekly conference includes a variety of educational programs, rotating on a weekly basis, throughout the year. Such ongoing curricular initiatives include:

Grand Rounds:
Tuesdays at 12:00 pm.

Autopsy Conference:
Fridays at 12:00 pm, September through May.

One PGY 2 resident reviews a patient's hospital course, including a review of autopsy material and underlying pathophysiology.

Clinicopathological Conference (CPC):
Thursdays at 4:30 pm, September through April.

One senior resident presents his/her "best" case, including the patient's history and physical, laboratory data, and review of the literature and pathology material.

Each of the sub-specialty divisions within the Department of Medicine have supplementary conference schedules as detailed in our Department of Medicine Conference Database
