Special Clinics

  • Multidisciplinary HIV Clinic
The multidisciplinary HIV clinic, comprised of HIV-certified physicians, nurse coordinators, social workers and religious support, a pharmacist, a nutritionist, a neurologist and a dermatologist, provides comprehensive care for patients, including clinical research on nutritional aspects of HIV infection. They care for more than 300 HIV-infected patients. Approximately one-third of these patients receive free ambulatory care through support from the Ryan White Care Act.

For more information on the Ryan White CARE Act, please visit the Health Resources & Services Administration website.

  • International Medicine and Traveler's Immunization Service
The International Medicine and Travelers’ Immunization Service is a comprehensive resource for travel-related health-care needs. This travel clinic offers pre- and post-travel evaluation, immunization, and medical information for international travelers.

Education
The division has made a significant commitment to didactic teaching for medical students and to a case-based curriculum to teach undergraduate students, residents and fellows the core knowledge of infectious diseases. The Infectious Disease Fellowship program is a two-year fellowship program with four positions. The fellowship program includes one year of clinical experience and one year of research training.
