Continuity ClinicAs of July 2003, we have a brand new facility! The new outpatient center simply has to be seen to be believed!
The Med-Peds Primary Care area is on the first floor next to the Pediatric Clinic.
As a Med-Peds resident, your continuity clinic occurs one half-day per week on campus at the Loyola Outpatient Center. All residents are assigned to a Med-Peds attending by whom they will be supervised for their four years of training. There are three residents assigned to each attending. Adults and children are seen in the same clinic session. Clinics for Med-Peds patients are available five days a week.
In addition to patient care, Med-Peds residents complete an ambulatory curriculum each year. These curricula are designed by the Department of Medicine and the Department of Pediatrics. They include topics such as: "Well Child Care", "Polypharmacy in the Elderly", and "Dysmenorrhea". The didactic component of the ambulatory curriculum is completed during our monthly Med-Peds resident meetings.
